2 Short Weekend Rides

5/4/2026

The Power of the "Short" Ride
This weekend wasn't about epic climbs or century-ride distance. Instead, it was about two wheels, 15 total miles, and some much-needed consistency. Both Saturday and Sunday offered up perfect riding weather, and I managed to squeeze in about 7.5 miles each day.
Strategy Over Stamina
I’ll be the first to admit that in the past, I’ve been tempted to go too big, too fast. This time, I'm taking a different approach. I am intentionally sticking with these shorter distances for a while as I work on my fitness.
The goal is simple: Stay encouraged. By keeping the rides manageable, I’m finishing each session feeling strong rather than depleted. It’s about building a sustainable habit and enjoying the process of getting back into shape without the pressure of a ticking stopwatch or a massive odometer goal.
Feeling Good
The best part? I felt fantastic both days. There’s something to be said for finishing a ride wanting a little bit more, rather than wishing you had turned back miles ago. I’m looking forward to keeping this momentum going throughout the week.
